# Explore the On-Demand Video Library in Astra IPT Hub

> Browse, watch, and bookmark on-demand videos in the Astra IPT Learning Hub — with playback controls, speed settings, captions, and a personal watch list.

The Astra IPT Learning Hub's on-demand video library gives you instant access to a growing collection of standalone educational videos covering key topics across all programme areas. Unlike lesson videos embedded inside courses, these videos are available any time without enrolment — letting you learn at your own pace, revisit concepts quickly, or explore new topics beyond your current course.

## Browsing the Library

The video library is organised to help you find relevant content without scrolling through everything at once.

* **Categories** — Videos are grouped by topic area (for example, Leadership, Data & Reporting, Communication, and Strategy). Select a category from the left-hand panel to filter the view.
* **Keyword search** — Use the search bar at the top of the library to find videos by title, topic, or keyword. Results update as you type.
* **Filter by duration or topic** — Apply filters from the **Filter** dropdown to narrow results by video length (under 5 mins, 5–15 mins, 15+ mins) or by a specific topic tag. Combine filters to refine your results further.

## Watching Videos

Once you open a video, a full-screen player loads with the following controls available to you.

**Playback Controls**

Use the standard playback controls at the bottom of the player to play, pause, rewind 10 seconds, or skip forward 10 seconds. Drag the progress bar to jump to any point in the video.

**Speed Adjustment**

Click the **speed indicator** (labelled **1x** by default) in the player toolbar to open the speed menu. Choose from:

* **0.75x** — Slower pace, ideal for detailed or technical content
* **1x** — Normal speed (default)
* **1.25x** — Slightly faster for familiar topics
* **1.5x** — Fast review of content you know well
* **2x** — Quick skim for experienced learners

Your speed preference resets to 1x when you open a new video.

**Subtitles & Captions**

Click the **CC** button in the player toolbar to toggle subtitles on or off. Captions are available in English for all videos in the library. Where additional language options exist, a language selector appears next to the CC button.

## Saving Videos to Your Watch List

You can bookmark any video to your personal watch list so you can return to it easily later.

**1. Find the video you want to save**

Browse or search the library until you locate the video. You can bookmark a video from the library grid view or from inside the player.

**2. Click the bookmark icon**

Select the **bookmark icon** (🔖) on the video card or in the top-right corner of the player. The icon fills to confirm the video has been saved.

**3. Access your watch list**

Go to **My Learning > Watch List** from the main navigation to view all your saved videos in one place. You can remove a bookmark at any time by clicking the filled bookmark icon again.

## Video Library vs. Course Lesson Videos

It's worth knowing the difference between the two types of video content available in the Learning Hub.

> **Standalone library videos**
>
> These are self-contained videos in the on-demand library. They are not part of a course and do not contribute to course completion or certification progress. You can watch them any time without enrolling in anything.

> **Lesson videos inside courses**
>
> These videos are embedded within a specific course module. Watching them counts toward your course progress and may be required to unlock the next lesson or complete an assessment. You must be enrolled in the course to access them.

> [!TIP]
>
> Turn on subtitles even if you don't need them for accessibility — following along with captions while listening is a proven technique for improving retention and comprehension, especially for technical or process-heavy content.
